When it was time to start seriously paining on canvas, I needed to explore what sort of texture I preferred. This canvas has six different areas of various applications of gesso. The textures included the traditional canvas weave, to brushed, to sanded, to a glassy finish, etc. Turns out that I’m not a big fan of glassy, but other than that, as long as it’s gessoed, I’m pretty OK with it.

As for the images…these are just some random images I cobbled together representing my beloved alma mater. Though this was a test piece, and decidedly unfinished, I wanted to dip my toe in the water for future works that will try to capture what it is to be a Terp.
