This is the first study being done to realize, on canvas, a digital artwork I did years before. The main thing I wanted to focus on was the gradient. As a result, I didn’t try to match the color range in the digital image, but instead widened the range so that this would also be practice for other works.

I happened to have a canvas on-hand that I’d stretched and gessoed but had compromised during the sanding of the gesso. As a result, it was worthless for a fine art piece but great for practice.
