The Connor Wars F0304 – “Without a Scorecard”
Jun 10th, 2009 | By CJ | Category: TTSCCHere is the fourth installment of Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles fanfic that picks up where the second season finale left off. As I mentioned before, I was so enthusiastic about the possibilities presented when the season ended that I just had to keep it going regardless of what happens with the suits at FOX.
The first thing you’ll probably notice is that I changed the name of the series to Terminator: The Connor Wars. I think that more accurately conveys what this project will cover as well as it being a lot easier to say.
As I disclaim on the title page, this is just meant to be a bit of fannish fun in the long spirit of the various fan communities. I’m not intending to step on any toes.
Without a Scorecard
It’s not easy being a person with a destiny. Everything you do informs the future. Both John and Sarah are puppets of destiny. Unfortunately, neither has a road map to their destination. All they know is that they have one mandate: fight until you can’t fight anymore.
Not that it’s all that easy for everyone else who is connected to that destiny. Sometimes the river of fate allows them to swim in calm waters, but sometimes it bashes them against the rocks as the pull of the rapids increase. Just ask Allison Young about that.

didn’t expect to like Allison (yet another Cameron fan), but i gotta say you’ve done a really good job building her up out of such scant information from the series.

Being a Cameron fan myself, I found it an interesting challenge to create a Summer Glau-type character that wasn’t Cameron or River or…. Fortunately “Allison From Palmdale” gave just enough hints and Summer has provided us with ample evidence of her range. Put those two together and you get Allison: hard as nails, playful as a puppy, confident in her self, and confounding like a teenager.
I’m looking forward to 305, too. Guess I should start writing it or something

I am also a Cameron fan, but Allison is cool. I tend not to be biased against certain characters – a good storyline that makes them likeable and I’m fine with it
– and your storyline is GREAT! (although probably some people are not happy with the fact that Allison is slowly taking Cameron’s place)
Love your take on Allison – she reminds me of Kara Thrace from the beginning of BSG: hard as nails, playful, confident and confounding

WOW…seriously…this one made my eyes tear…This was such a strong episode. Keep em comin man, keep em comin. “La Cazadora”… The hunter?right? correct me if im wrong. But the character just seems to be so strong….and everything that ’s going onis so intriguing and…man…PLEASE write fast. lol

Yep, you’re correct. “La Cazadora” is indeed “the huntress”. Good catch. In fact, each name in Alex’s full name comes with some meaning…whether literal or familial. For example, “Alejandra” means protector and defender. It took a good two days for me to find and be satisfied with Alex’s name. (Did anyone catch Sarah calling her “Sandra”? No, that wasn’t a mistake on Sarah’s part or mine.)

CJ, I was wondering if John will be reunited with Cameron in this fan fic? I like it, but I’ve always been a big Cameron fan.
Ooo! Ooo! I know the answer to that! (I do. I really do.)
But…since that’s actually one of the big questions of the season, I’m not going to spill just yet. I will say this, though: I, too, am a very big Cameron fan. So’s John. John is very aware that Allison and Cameron aren’t the same. For Cameron, without John her life has no purpose. The John Connor in 2027 is the only John Connor remaining.
And that’s something to chew on. Let’s just say that with John and Cameron/Camenry both in 2027…there are many possibilities in the 17 episodes yet to be written (even though it’s not completely finished and posted, I’m considering ep 5 as having been written).
And let’s also consider that I don’t usually offer things up simply, on a silver platter. I’m “ebil” in that way. Even so, sometimes I do. You just never know with me. When the story tells me to do something, I listen.
