The Connor Wars F0317 – “Of Course You Realize”
Nov 25th, 2009 | By CJ | Category: TTSCC
Here is the seventeenth installment of Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles fanfic that picks up where the second season finale left off. As I mentioned before, I was so enthusiastic about the possibilities presented when the season ended that I just had to keep it going regardless of what happens with the suits at FOX.
The first thing you’ll probably notice is that I changed the name of the series to Terminator: The Connor Wars. I think that more accurately conveys what this project will cover as well as it being a lot easier to say.
As I disclaim on the title page, this is just meant to be a bit of fannish fun in the long spirit of the various fan communities. I’m not intending to step on any toes.
Of Course You Realize
After John’s impressive string of victories, Skynet pushes back, shaking John’s confidence.
(With the size it is, and if it didn’t do it automagically, the PDF seems to read easier if you zoom to 66.7% and then scroll the text horizontally so it’s centered.)

Next episode: F0318 – “Whereabouts Unknown”
Oh, and before I get emails about this. The PDF file I generated has the setting to allow people to print out the script turned off. If you are having trouble with the plug-in, click here.

Great episode! I’ve been hooked on your stuff ever since I saw the last episode of the second season TSCC (No season 3?! What!!) and needed the story to continue.
Anyway I love the Allison-Cameron interactions, I laughed at the pinky promise thing. Its also nice that Cameron and John can talk to each other now, not like in season 2 when they weren’t close.
Your script writing is really awesome. It takes a little mental effort to read in American accents but it feels like I’m really watching it =)
Keep up the good work
p.s Poor Tawny =(
Awww… now you’ve gone and made me smile. Thank you.
I like Cameron with…well, anyone. This has been a great opportunity to develop the John/Cameron relationship like the one Cameron mentioned from time-to-time and that so many fans wanted to see. Ali and Cam are just fun.
It’s funny what you said about reading in American accents because I actually did have to be mindful to make Jesse sound more Aussie than Kiwi (yes, people, there’s a difference). In keeping with the established character, Jesse’s speech is a little more cliche-ridden than I’d like, but you do what you can. I have a similar problem when writing Weaver to make her sound Scottish and not Irish.
And thanks for the writing compliment. For some reason, Hollywood has never opted to embrace the awesomeness that is screenwriting me.
Your welcome =)
Cameron is such a funny character to watch and read, she’s awesome.
Haha Kiwi and Aussie accents are different in that neither of us would like to be mistaken for the other but honestly we do actually sound kind of similar….. but with distinct differences =)
I feel sort of represented in our corner of the globe even by Aussie actors because, with the exception of Jango and Boba Fett (woot), there really aren’t any Kiwi actors on overseas shows/movies.
I didn’t really notice much clicheness with Jesse, ‘carrots and apples’ isn’t something I’ve heard an Aussie say until TSCC anyway, more of a Jesse signature line maybe? Its when she starts mentioning chucking something on the barbie that doesn’t exist cos its the future that you could be going to far =D I dunno.
Weaver would be less of a problem anyway cos shes a terminator that isn’t actually Scottish and has spent most of her time around Americans anyway, am I right? It would be her fault if she sounded Irish =P
Do any of the actual actors from TSCC read your stuff? They should =)
I think the first Kiwi actor most people were aware of here was/is Lucy Lawless.
I’d never have Jesse toss a shrimp on the barbie. Prawn, maybe, never shrimp.
Honestly, I do enjoy Strine (maybe too much), so I’m mindful to tone it down a bit. (Heh…. a writer who loves the variations of his native tongue…what are the odds?) “Carrots and apples” and “She’ll be apples” did seem sort of off. True, while Oz has a linguistic foundation that includes rhyming slang, it still sounded more Cockney than Aussie. Still, being half a planet away, I can easily be wrong.
If any of the actors have read these things, no one’s mentioned it to me. I’d be interested to hear their honest opinion about what I’ve done with their characters. If anyone out there in ConnorWars-land wants to direct them to this story, I’d be fine with it (hint, hint). For that matter, if anyone has need (or knows someone with need) for a writer such as me come April, feel free to bend my ear. I’m easy. I’ll work for money. =)
One example of where the episode title came from:

Hello!
I was sure to have already commented the latest chapter, but maybe I was confused with my tweet on it! ^^
Great chapter! I love the interactions between Allison and Cameron! You did also an interesting job introducing T-Ellison (but I’m afraid, since we saw him in the past, trying to kill Ellison, that he’ll soon revert against John, I hope not), I hope that this timeline Jesse will not betray John.
Ah and of course, I love the little Jameron moments, I hope there will be more in the future! ^^
Hope to read you soon!
Regards
Let’s not forget that the terminator Ellison that Cromartie de-power supplied in S2 and that Sarah head-splatted in TCW was one of those pesky T-888s and not a T0K – showroom new and now with improved flobotinum, for hi-performance plot devices.
