Musing on…7-11 Snippets

Many many moons ago, I worked alone on the graveyard shift at a 7-11 for a year one summer. Every now and again stuff would happen that gave rare opportunities to a goof like me.
One night a guy comes in and grabs a gallon of milk from the refrigerated section. As he turns, the container slips from his hand and explodes on the floor, leaving a marvelously large white splat. There is only one proper retort, so of course I said, "Well, no use crying over it."
My proudest moment, I think, was when this guy runs into the store and asks, "You don’t have any bananas, right?"
I reply in song, "Yes, we have no bananas. We have no bananas, today!"
Yes…the world is my straight-man. Sometimes it’s fun to be a smart-ass.
