I’m having another go with the Cameron sketch.
It really bugged me that I messed up the eyes. They were both a bit too high in the first version, and the human eye was a little on the small side. In the grand tradition of art, I’ve elected to call it a “study” and try again. Here’s the result after the first session:
Already you can see the improvement. The image doesn’t fall into the “uncanny valley” like the first one did. That’s the really tricky thing when drawing people: humans are really really good at knowing what’s correct. That’s why, so often, the test of the artist is the human figure.
I’m not planning on spending a lot of time with this as it’s mostly to get my mind back on art.
