Finished work on the latest hunk of art. With “Four Ristras”, the underpainting was done with acrylics and a “hairy stick” while most of the refinement was done by shooting acrylics with an airbrush. I’d actually started out intending this to be a bit more abstract than it ended up being. The representationalist in me sort of took over from time-to-time. C’est la art.
These ristras aren’t done from life. While there are ristras around that I looked at for inspiration (this being NM and all), the art itself was just a figment of my imagination. The piece is 610 mm x 508mm (24″ x 20″) on stretched canvas.
I’m sure a better picture will follow once the piece is varnished. It will then be posted in the gallery.
