We’ve turned the page to another year and with that there is always the hope that art will soon bloom anew.
I have several WIPs (work in progress) in place as the new year begins. They cover a variety of media and subjects which definitely ensures that things aren’t going to get boring around here any time soon. The one I’m most looking forward to finishing uses the Declaration of Independence as a base. Since I didn’t want to simply print out a copy of the document to serve as the piece’s foundation, I’ve been practicing the text’s mostly roundhand script for quite a few months (minus November for NaNoWriMo, and December for the holidays) to write it up myself. Hope the end product is worth the effort. A few people have seen the test piece I did, and their response was favorable. So, there’s hope.
There’s an airbrush work sitting on the easel waiting for the temperature to get a lot warmer than it is right now. I have a scratchboard work and a graphite work mocked up and waiting for me to get to them.
…and January is only a day old.
I’m also revamping blog themes and working on a novel, so fitting all that in with arting is going to make scheduling for each rather interesting for a while. Even so, I’m expecting a good year of committing some finished art.
